Socko has a clear sense of purpose - to create sustainable products that are made to last.
Emma’s dream of Socko began when searching for meaning in her work. She saw that her job satisfaction came when she was able to connect what she’d done with her working day with its positive impact upon others. Through combining her talent for craft with her love of people and planet, she identified her business idea: Sustainable socks.
At the heart of Socko is a fundamentally great pair of socks. Designed, sourced and made in the UK, from Elsa the knitter, to Caroline the linker, to Brian the woodturner, we know all of our producers personally and can ensure that they are paid properly for their skills. We craft yarn that is no longer serving a purpose into socks to be worn for years.
At Socko we promote the idea of visible mending. Too many socks are being thrown away when a quick 10 minute darn session could keep them going a little longer. Let us show you the lost art of darning!
