Elisha Francis Works in both metal and textiles allowing her to communicate a narrative; these contrasting materials represent the idea that we can be hard and soft, simple and intricate, strong and fragile. Sometimes it is hard to express ourselves with words, but what we choose to adorn ourselves with can reflect that still small voice that is trying to be set free.
The Bomani collection was created during her final year of university where Elisha studied jewellery design at Sir John Cass (LMU). It was created to represent strength, courage, and to evoke the warrior in us all. The word Bomani means warrior or solider and is an African/Egyptian boys name. Coming together to celebrate our differences, standing alone and feeling empowered and making a conscious decision to walk the path we choose.
