Charlie Mortley is a surface pattern designer-maker based in the North Kent countryside. Charlie works with a bold and vibrant colour palette to create her complex surface pattern designs, by layering and collaging her own drawings and photographs digitally. The journey from idea to final print design involves many processes that Charlie works through, honing the results into a beautifully curated yet diverse collection of digital print designs.
These designs are then translated on to a variety of surfaces and interior products, perfect for adding colour to an interior space. The print designs in this collection explore geometry and tessellation alongside elements of nature and its forces. Elements of illusion and three dimensional shapes are incorporated into the products creating a range perfect for adding geometric art to any home.
Each of Charlie Mortley's framed artworks are made in her studio, by hand, using materials sourced in the United Kingdom. Some processes are aided by a plotter cutter in the studio but the skill of hand making always helps to bring the product to fruition and ensure a high quality finish. Charlie's fine art Giclee prints are printed in the UK and carefully signed and packaged in her studio.
