As part of London Design Festival 2013, Designers/Makers curated the FLORA + FAUNA Pop-Up Shop in London’s famous Columbia Road.
We invited Designer Makers from around the UK to submit their ideas in response to the theme, Flora + Fauna. The project provided a great opportunity for flourishing British Designer Makers to exhibit their work in a creative space and also offered the public a chance to explore the theme in an aesthetically beautiful, eclectic setting.
The Designer Makers we chose demonstrated a commitment and passion for both independent design and for developing their brand within fashion, interior design, glass, jewellery, stationery, furniture, ceramics, metalwork and prints.
Designers / Makers started a small market for Designers back in 2009 at a warehouse in Hackney Wick; focusing on creating a market that offered original and quality items from London based Designers.
We then ran pop up markets at Little London Fields Festival and Space Studios in Hackney before moving to our permanent home at Old Spitalfields Market Hall.
Designers / Makers have delivered many workshops, working in partnership with other creative organisations and Artists/Designers.
